Apply here today to launch an extraordinary career.** AES is seeking a **Substation Operator\-1** Responsible for controlling, supervising, and executing on-site processes related to the maintenance and operation of 345 kV Substations and High-Voltage Transmission Lines owned by InterAndes and TermoAndes. This role oversees O\&M activities enabling the company to fulfill its purpose while achieving short- and medium-term departmental goals — always ensuring personnel and equipment safety and compliance with regulatory obligations set forth by Control Agencies. Must ensure maximum availability of facilities to the SADI. **Key Responsibilities:** * Ensure functionality and maintenance of installations. * Develop and maintain up-to-date O\&M procedures for SSEE and 345 kV LAT within the area of responsibility. * Comply with TRANSNOA Technical License requirements. * Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for the InterAndes area of responsibility (maintenance plans for SSEE and 345 kV LAT). * Plan and execute corrective maintenance tasks. * Propose annual expenditure and investment needs for the area to the SSEE and 345 kV LAT Management. * Monitor and control SSEE and 345 kV LAT installations through inspections, data collection, review and execution of maintenance alerts, etc. * Monitor and control maintenance of the power plant’s general site, buildings, and green spaces. * Review content and collaborate in controlling preparation of all maintenance activity reports. * Track information flow and communications with other corporate departments. * Request procurement of materials and services required for the area. * Execute, coordinate, and maintain records of maintenance department activities. * Ensure compliance with technical standards applicable to SSEE and Power Transmission Lines. * Control commissioning and operational processes of SSEE and 345 kV LAT. * Operate and maneuver various SSEE and 345 kV LEAT equipment. * Collaborate with and support SSEE and 345 kV LAT operations alongside Supervisors and SSEE and 345 kV LAT Managers. * Perform isolations and prepare Work Permits for various equipment in SSEE and 345 kV LEAT; conduct Job Safety Analyses; implement lockout/tagout procedures — all coordinated with Cobos / Andes Dispatch Centers. * Conduct field inspections and periodic equipment tests per established schedules. **Requirements:** * Electrical, Electronic, and/or Electromechanical Technician degree. * Preferably 3–5 years of experience in Electrical Substations, Transmission Lines, Distribution, and/or Power Generation Plants. * Training in Operation and Maintenance of electrical installations. * Technical training in Electricity, SSEE, Transmission / Power Generation. * Live-line work, working at heights, and Transmission Safety. * Microsoft Office Suite (minimum: Word and Excel), SAP PMM. **We improve the lives of over 10\+ million people through safe and reliable energy delivery.
