With an industry\-leading pipeline of projects, strong financial positioning, and talented employees, we look forward to our bright future! **Job Description:** **Senior Exploration Technician** Execute, coordinate, and supervise technical and operational mining exploration activities during early (greenfield) stages, ensuring high standards of safety, industrial hygiene, environmental protection, data quality, and operational efficiency. Act as a field leader, promoting a preventive culture and operational discipline. **Responsibilities** **Health, Safety, and Environment (Priority #1)** * Comply with and enforce company and contractor HSE policies. * Actively participate in task risk analyses (e.g., JSA). * Identify, report, and correct unsafe conditions and acts. * Apply critical controls for high-risk work. * Verify correct and consistent use of mandatory and task-specific PPE. * Supervise housekeeping and cleanliness in work areas, camps, and vehicles. * Ensure compliance with manual handling and ergonomics protocols. * Verify sanitary conditions at camp: potable water, hygiene, waste management, food services. * Monitor compliance with fatigue management and fitness-for-duty standards. * Participate in emergency drills, evacuations, and rescue exercises. * Apply protocols for work at high altitude, extreme weather, and remote locations. * Report incidents, near misses, and preventive observations. * Stop any unsafe task using operational authority. * Ensure defensive driving and road safety on mine/rural roads. * Comply with environmental standards regarding off-road travel, flora/fauna, and water usage. **Community Engagement and Social License** * Maintain respectful and professional interactions with local communities, landowners, ranchers, authorities, and local suppliers. * Serve as a role model for appropriate team conduct in the field. * Respect local customs, cultural norms, and territorial dynamics. * Report community conflicts, concerns, or reputational risks promptly. * Coordinate access to properties and easements per company guidelines. * Support community activities, field visits, or meetings when required. * Promote local hiring and local procurement within current policies. * Ensure appropriate behavior by personnel in camps, towns, and access routes. * Protect sensitive sites: cemeteries, corrals, water sources, cultural heritage, and community-use areas. **Field Operations** * Coordinate prospecting, sampling, mapping, and regional reconnaissance campaigns. * Supervise junior technicians, assistants, and contractors. * Organize daily field logistics. * Manage equipment, tools, fuel, and supplies. * Ensure productivity without compromising safety. **Technical Support** * Conduct rock, soil, sediment, trench, and core sampling. * Maintain sample chain-of-custody and traceability. * Support geological, structural, and alteration mapping. * Operate GPS, compass, basic GIS, pXRF, and digital data capture tablets. * Support drilling and geophysical survey campaigns. **Leadership** * Lead by example in safety discipline. * Train new personnel on safe practices and operational standards. * Correct behavioral and operational deviations in the field. * Maintain a professional and focused work environment. **Requirements:** * 8+ years of experience in mining exploration. * Demonstrated experience in greenfield projects and remote areas. * Proven track record of incident-free field leadership. * Experience working at altitudes > 3\.500 m above sea level. **Technical Knowledge** * Sampling and mapping. * GPS / GIS / Excel. * Mining safety, incident investigation, and risk management. * First aid and emergency response (desirable). * Defensive 4x4 driving (highly desirable). **Key Competencies** * Strong leadership. * Operational discipline. * Tolerance for adverse conditions. * Direct and clear communication. * Risk anticipation. * Decision-making capability in the field.
