**Data Scientist** **What challenges await you?** A Business Data Scientist is a profile built upon three fundamental components: strong programming skills, foundations in statistics and data analysis, and empathy toward business. A business data scientist is someone deeply interested in solving business issues using various existing data-driven techniques, selecting the most appropriate method based on the problem and identifying the solution that best addresses the client's and end-user's pain points. The Business Data Scientist will play a central role throughout the entire Data Science solution process, which can be applied across a wide variety of functions or industries: data collection and cleaning; model training, tuning, and validation; as well as communicating results to different stakeholder groups. **Role Responsibilities** **What kind of profile are we envisioning?** Below are some of the responsibilities a Business Data Scientist within the team might perform daily as part of a project team: * Collaborate in understanding the client's business requirements and help translate them into data analysis-related actions * Conduct exploratory data analysis on datasets to understand their behavior and extract "insights" * Manipulate datasets to perform cleaning, transformation, and integration operations so they can serve as input for developing ML models or other types of analysis * Develop SQL queries to extract or analyze data stored in relational sources * Apply ML techniques/algorithms to develop and experiment with predictive models aimed at generating value in client processes * Present results both internally and to clients **Must Have** The skills listed in this section are mandatory requirements that a Business Data Scientist candidate must possess to perform effectively within the team and projects: * Strong programming skills in languages oriented toward Data Science, primarily Python. Experience in other languages such as R, Scala, Java, etc., is also valued.
