We partner with mining operations worldwide to move less material, use less energy, manage water intelligently, and generate less waste—driving more efficient and sustainable mining. **Purpose of the Role** The Technical Support Engineer plays a key role in delivering specialized technical support for Weir equipment, ensuring customer operational continuity, high standards of quality and safety, and actively contributing to regional business growth. **Key Responsibilities** * Regularly visit customers within your territory to assess the status of our equipment and competitors’ equipment. * Provide commercial support to the local sales representative and act as the liaison with the engineering department. * Analyze complex technical requirements, drawings, specifications, and operating conditions to define appropriate solutions for each customer or project. * Advise commercial, engineering, project, and technical service teams on interpreting requirements and selecting products. * Develop advanced technical proposals, analysis reports, recommendations, and special configurations. * Coordinate with various departments to validate technical solutions and manufacturing feasibility. * Evaluate in-service product performance by investigating failures, deviations, and improvement opportunities. * Lead specialized technical support activities, training, and advanced technical presentations for customers and internal teams. * Document technical criteria, reports, reviews, and standards to ensure traceability and alignment with engineering policies. * Comply with and actively promote **Zero Harm** behaviors, contributing to the development of a world-class safety culture. **Mandatory Requirements:** * Professional degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field. * Residence in Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut, or surrounding areas. * Minimum 3 years of relevant experience with industrial equipment, ideally pumps and machinery for mining or oil & gas industries. * Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software. * Intermediate level in Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). **Preferred Requirements:** * Intermediate level of English. * Prior experience in industrial environments or mining sites. * Strong customer orientation, with communication, negotiation, and collaborative working skills. * Ability to perform effectively both remotely and on-site in the field. **Our Values** At Weir, we live our values: **Safety First**, doing the right thing, respect for people, aiming high, and exceeding our customers’ expectations.
