At **Raízen Argentina**, we are looking for an **"Electrical Specialist"** **The Primary Objective of This Position Will Be:** To serve as the highest technical authority for refinery electrical systems (LV/MV/HV), acting as a reference for protection systems, hazardous area classification, electrical safety, facility design, and emergency systems. Define technical criteria, conduct audits, and support operations, maintenance, and projects. Specialist (Expert) — Level M / Technical Authority (TA) **Responsibilities and Authorities** **Key Responsibilities Include:** 1\. Define standards and technical criteria for electrical installations across the refinery and other business units. 2\. Lead protection coordination and short-circuit current studies. 3\. Audit and maintain up-to-date hazardous area classifications. 4\. Lead causal learning investigations for complex electrical failures. 5\. Review and approve technical specifications for procurement of electrical equipment. 6\. Participate in HAZOP/LOPA as the electrical specialist. 7\. Lead MOC reviews with impact on electrical systems. 8\. Define the strategy for predictive electrical maintenance (thermography, partial discharge, transformer oil analysis). 9\. Act as the primary technical contact with ENRE / CAMMESA / distribution utilities, manufacturers, and consultants. 10\. Develop and train the team of electrical analysts. 11\. Manage electrical emergency procedures (blackout). 12\. Prepare high-level technical reports for management and executive leadership. **Requirements and Qualifications** * Academic background: Electrical Engineer * Language proficiency: Advanced English * Tools knowledge: PowerBI, SAP, Office * Required certifications: AEA BA5 certification (Qualified Person for live-work). Demonstrable knowledge of NFPA 70E and IEC 60079. Process Safety Awareness training (or equivalent) * Other (Driver’s license, registration with a professional institution, willingness to relocate) * Competencies: Expert-level knowledge in: Electrical Protection (IEEE C37): Experience in specification, coordination, configuration, and analysis of electrical protection systems in medium- and high-voltage networks, including digital relays and selectivity studies. Power and Distribution Transformers (IEEE C57): Expert knowledge of transformer operation, maintenance, failure diagnostics, testing, and lifecycle management. Hazardous Area Classification (IEC 60079): Experience in classifying areas with explosion hazards and selecting electrical equipment for explosive atmospheres. Electrical Safety (NFPA 70E and IEEE 1584): Ability to develop and implement electrical safety programs, risk assessments, arc flash studies, and mitigation controls. Electrical Safety and Arc Flash (NFPA 70E): Experience in incident energy evaluation, definition of approach boundaries, EPP, and safe work practices. Electrical LOTO: Proficiency in isolation, lockout, and verification of absence of energy in industrial facilities. Blackout Management: Experience in analysis, prevention, response, and recovery from total or partial loss of electrical supply in complex industrial processes. Competencies and Skills Electrical Installation Design (AEA 90364): Ability to review and develop design criteria, specifications, and regulatory compliance for industrial installations. Grounding Systems (IEEE 80 and IEEE 142): Ability to evaluate, design, and optimize grounding systems and protection against step and touch voltages. Variable Frequency Drives (VFD): Experience in application, parameterization, fault diagnosis, and optimization of electric drive systems. UPS and Battery Systems: Ability to manage reliability, maintenance, and availability of uninterruptible power supply systems. Electrical Thermography: Ability to interpret thermographic inspections, detect anomalies, and define preventive and predictive actions. RCM Methodologies and Root Cause Analysis: Experience in criticality analysis, reliability assessment, failure modes, and root cause investigations aimed at improving asset performance. SAP PM: Ability to manage maintenance plans, work orders, KPIs, and reliability strategies using SAP PM. Life-Saving Rules (IOGP): Knowledge and promotion of safety standards based on critical behaviors and risk management. HAZOP and LOPA Participation in process risk studies, identification of scenarios, and definition of safeguards. MOC (Management of Change): Experience in evaluating and managing technical and operational changes while ensuring risk control. Incident Investigation: Ability to lead technical investigations, determine root causes, and implement effective corrective actions. Technical Leadership: Ability to lead specialists, build technical consensus, and promote engineering best practices and reliability. OPEX and CAPEX Management: Experience in developing, monitoring, and optimizing maintenance, reliability, and capital investment budgets. **Additional Information** * Work Schedule: Example Hybrid 3x2 Raízen was established in Brazil in 2011 and entered Argentina in October 2018.
