John Crane is part of Smiths Group (www.smiths.com), a global leader in applying advanced technologies for markets in threat and contraband detection, energy, medical devices, communications, and engineering components. **Job Description** The Reliability Technician is responsible for providing field support to customers in resolving recurring technical issues, failure analysis, training, advisory on seal installation, assistance plans, and predictive technical inspections at customer facilities. Roles \& Responsibilities: * Provide on-site technical assistance to customers, identifying and resolving issues with rotating equipment and mechanical seals. * Conduct field visits to evaluate equipment performance and implement preventive maintenance measures. * Support interventions on rotating equipment — plant shutdowns or equipment startups. * Utilize CBM techniques such as thermography and vibration analysis to diagnose equipment problems. * Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction. * Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation regarding equipment condition, repairs, and region-specific contract-related activities. * Collaborate with the engineering team to improve product designs and enhance equipment reliability. * Support customer training sessions on proper equipment operation and maintenance procedures. * Support spare parts inventory management and coordinate with JC internal staff and customer personnel to ensure an efficient supply chain. * Support regional reliability management by ensuring continuity in contract execution during operational needs and/or emergencies. * Ensure compliance with safety, quality standards, and company and customer policies at JC. **What would a typical workday look like?** * Site walkthroughs and equipment condition inspections using predictive maintenance tools at customer sites, interaction with customer maintenance and reliability personnel, support during seal installations, assistance plans, and commissioning of rotating equipment. Work permits, travel. (emails, exams, activity risk assessments). * Disassembly, inspection, and condition analysis of mechanical seals received for repair. **Requirements** * **A minimum of 3 years** of experience in maintenance, failure analysis support, and repair of rotating equipment. Experience in the Oil \& Gas sector, specifically in pipelines. * Graduated as a Mechanical or Electromechanical Technician. * Knowledge of operating principles of rotating equipment such as turbomachinery, centrifugal pumps, agitators, etc. * General knowledge of production processes in the Oil \& Gas, Power Generation, OEMs, and general industry sectors. * Ability to apply predictive maintenance tools available at John Crane, such as vibration analysis and thermography. * Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) at an intermediate level. * Intermediate English level (not mandatory). * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose complex equipment issues. * Supporting activities in DockSud (customer site) and Garín (Service Center) **Additional Information** With colleagues spread across the globe, we are proud of our diversity.
