The Role As a Business Developer, you will be responsible for designing, communicating, developing, and implementing the business and marketing strategy for the Blood Bank and Serology portfolio within the Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Bolivia (SAN) subregion. In this role, you will serve as a key strategic liaison with the market, capturing opportunities with agility and incorporating market intelligence and emerging trends. You will collaborate closely with the Infectious Diseases Disease Management Squad and multidisciplinary teams to expand market share, ensure end-to-end commercial execution, deliver value to customers, and elevate the standard of patient care. The Opportunity * Strategic Planning: Design and implement business development plans and strategies fully aligned with the Disease Management Squad. Contribute to defining strategy and prioritizing tactics for the assigned portfolio by adapting global/regional guidelines to the SAN network context and defining pricing positioning. * Commercial Management and Tenders: Manage and validate commercial proposals (GDC), adapt price lists, and actively support preparation and defense of public and private tenders. * Execution and Technical Support: Lead end-to-end execution of business development projects, providing comprehensive scientific and technical support to customers as well as technical training to Roche’s internal commercial roles and distributor channel networks. You will act as the primary point of contact and subject-matter expert within your area of specialization. * Market Intelligence: Proactively gather market and customer insights to share with the squad, shaping strategy according to environmental needs and integrating the customer perspective into squads and regional networks (EMEA\-LATAM). * Strategic Relationships and Co\-creation: Identify new opportunities jointly with field teams and co\-create key account plans in collaboration with Key Account Managers (KAMs). Build and maintain strong, effective, and trusted relationships with customers, partners, and key scientific and institutional stakeholders (scientific societies, national and provincial programs) to influence strategy. * Internal Synergy: Collaborate closely with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Healthcare Manager, and Customer Experience teams to optimize key business metrics, resource allocation, and financial plans (BP\& IP). Who you are * Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related fields. Postgraduate studies or an MBA are highly desirable. * Professional Experience: Proven prior experience in business development, product marketing, applications specialist, or sales roles within the in vitro diagnostics (IVD) or pharmaceutical industry. * Critical Technical Knowledge: Demonstrated track record and deep, up-to-date technical expertise in both serology and molecular biology. Solid understanding of diagnostic techniques—and specifically NAT (Nucleic Acid Testing) screening assays for blood banks—is essential. * Languages: Advanced English proficiency (B2, C1, or C2 level) to interact fluently in a global, corporate environment and with the company’s regional functions. * Soft Skills and Competencies: \* Excellent communication, negotiation, objection-handling skills, and strong ability to influence multiple stakeholders. * Strong interpersonal skills to operate effectively in agile and collaborative operational models. * Systems- and data-driven strategic mindset, with high analytical capability and business problem-solving skills. * Mobility: Willingness and flexibility to travel frequently across the SAN cluster network (Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Bolivia).
