Interact directly with customer stakeholders We are looking for a **Chief Java Developer** to join our team. You will design and support microservices\-based applications built on Java, Spring Boot, and cloud technologies, delivering clean and efficient code, partnering closely with the team, and following best practices in quality, scalability, and performance. You will be part of a well\-established blended team formed by EPAM and the customer's engineers, focused on advancing Identity Management solutions for the customer's enterprise platform. This is a cooperative and fast\-paced setting where strong communication and client engagement are just as important as technical mastery. You will interact directly with customer stakeholders, making polished client\-facing skills a key element for succeeding in this position. **Responsibilities** * Architect, build, and maintain high\-performance backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot together with Spring Security * Provide and support OAuth2, authentication, and authorization flows within the customer's Identity Management platform * Help with front\-end development tasks when necessary, supporting the team in delivering complete end\-to\-end features as an additional area of contribution * Work closely with customer engineers and stakeholders, clearly communicating technical choices, progress reports, and any impediments * Take part in code reviews, promote best practices, and participate in architectural conversations while collaborating in a paired programming setup * Interface with identity\-related components such as token management, user authentication flows, and session handling * Function within an Agile and Scrum delivery model, actively engaging in sprint ceremonies and backlog refinement activities * Verify that solutions consistently meet security, scalability, and performance targets across the whole platform **Requirements** * A minimum of 7 years of applied professional experience in software engineering * At least 2 years in a people management or team leadership role, overseeing a team of 8 or more FTEs * Deep proficiency in Java (11/17 or newer) combined with intermediate ReactJS skills for frontend contributions * Solid practical experience in RESTful API design and development * Hands\-on background with OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and related authentication and authorization frameworks * Working understanding of Identity Management concepts including SSO, token\-based authentication, JWT, and PKCE flows * Applied experience with SQL and/or NoSQL data storage technologies * Confident command of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern DevOps methodologies * Strong English communication at B2 level or above, in both writing and speech **Nice to have** * Working knowledge of Go for backend engineering activities * Practical experience with JavaScript to support frontend\-related tasks * Awareness of SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris Commerce) for connecting with e\-commerce platforms **We offer** * International projects with top brands * Work with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peers * Healthcare benefits * Employee financial programs * Paid time off and sick leave * Upskilling, reskilling and certification courses * Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning library and 22,000\+ courses * Global career opportunities * Volunteer and community involvement opportunities * EPAM Employee Groups * Award\-winning culture recognized by Glassdoor, Newsweek and LinkedIn
