With around 140,000 employees and contractors and a strong presence in more than 35 countries—across both established and emerging resource regions—our industrial and marketing activities are supported by a global network of more than 40 offices. **Choya Remediation Field Supervisor** -------------------------------------------- **Location:** Andalgalá, Choya restoration and revegetation areas, Minera Alumbrera, Catamarca **Division:** Environmental Management Department **Reports to:** Senior Restoration and Revegetation Supervisor **Reports include:** nursery staff, contractor personnel assigned to daily activities ### **Position Objective** The primary purpose of this position is to supervise the daily execution of nursery and revegetation activities, ensuring compliance with technical procedures, HSEC standards, execution quality, and objectives established for the Choya Restoration Program. This role serves as the operational link between the Senior Supervisor and work crews, ensuring scheduled activities are carried out on time and correctly, maintaining complete records and providing technical information for program monitoring. This role also serves as the liaison between mine operational areas linked to the Choya project and local communities. ### **Required Education:** Agronomist, Forestry Technician/Professional, Biologist, or related field ### **Required Experience:** **Desirable** * +3–5 years in revegetation, ecological restoration, afforestation, or mining projects + Experience leading work teams + Experience in nurseries + Experience in restoration of degraded areas + Experience working under HSEC systems. ### **Technical Competencies:** * + Knowledge of native plant species management. + Nursery plant production. + Planting and ecological restoration. + Irrigation and maintenance. + Environmental monitoring. + Interpretation of plans and sketches. + Basic GPS operation. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office. ### **Interpersonal Competencies:** * + Operational leadership focused on safety + Work organization + Effective communication + Teamwork + Conflict resolution + Understanding of management systems ### **Management Responsibilities:** * + Daily activity planning. + Productivity control. + Schedule tracking. + Report preparation. + Resource organization. ### **Safety and Environment:** * + Strong commitment to Safety. + Compliance with HSEC / SAFEWORK procedures + Environmental protection. + Safe work at height and in mountainous terrain. + Housekeeping and cleanliness. ### **Scope and Interfaces:** * + Nursery: daily supervision of plant production, maintenance, and dispatch. + Field: supervision of planting, restoration, maintenance, and monitoring. + Contractors: operational coordination of assigned teams. + Safety: compliance with PETS, AST, work permits, and HSEC standards. + Environment: information recording. + Senior Supervisor: daily reporting on progress, needs, and deviations. + Other departments: operational coordination with other involved areas (Communities, Safety, Maintenance, etc.) ### **Responsibilities:** * + Daily supervision of activities carried out by nursery and field personnel and of plant production in accordance with procedures and schedules. + Coordination of the nursery team by appropriately assigning tasks and resources. + Maintenance of traceability records, producing plants meeting the quality standards defined by the program. + Control of correct execution of plant production activities, plant health status, and quality of planting-ready plant material. + Coordination and supervision of germplasm collection activities and implementation of an active germplasm bank. + Supervision of field revegetation activities and transportation of plants from nursery to planting sites under optimal conditions. + Supervision of road, trail, and degraded area restoration activities in accordance with technical specifications outlined in the Choya Restoration Plan. + Conducting daily safety and environmental inspections in compliance with HSEC standards. + Control of efficient use and continuous availability of tools, equipment, and supplies used by work crews. + Control of work quality performed by contractors (if applicable). + Recording of daily production and field progress in a complete and traceable manner. + Preparation of daily and weekly reports containing reliable information for project planning. + Participation in survival monitoring, vegetation cover assessment, and environmental quality evaluation to assess program performance. + Training of personnel on technical procedures and best practices to ensure higher execution quality and reduced errors. + Identification of technical deviations and proposal of corrective actions to continuously improve restoration and revegetation activities. + Maintaining ongoing communication with the Senior Supervisor to ensure efficient coordination between planning and execution. + Participation in authority or community visits as specific technical support when required and previously coordinated.
