Shape the next generation of mobile platforms We are seeking a **Senior Server\-side Engineer** to build and evolve a Backend\-for\-Frontend service layer that powers high\-traffic mobile experiences for clients worldwide. You will collaborate with engineers, product partners, designers, and QA to deliver reliable APIs and high\-quality code. Apply to help shape the next generation of mobile platforms. **Responsibilities** * Design and build the Backend\-for\-Frontend API layer used by mobile applications * Implement REST endpoints and service contracts that support mobile user flows * Optimize service performance through profiling, analysis, and targeted improvements * Refactor legacy code to improve maintainability, readability, and reliability * Write clean, testable code and maintain strong unit test coverage * Integrate with existing backend services and handle bespoke and legacy dependencies * Fix defects by diagnosing root causes and shipping safe, timely patches * Collaborate with engineers, product partners, designers, and QA to deliver features * Contribute to CI workflows and build tooling to keep delivery smooth * Share ideas and advocate for great user experience through API and data design * Remove unnecessary code and reduce technical debt to keep the codebase healthy **Requirements** * 3\+ years of Java experience building server\-side applications * Senior\-level collaboration skills working with cross\-functional teams * Strong solution design skills for open\-ended problems * Strong Spring Boot expertise for building and maintaining services * Strong REST API development skills, including integration with legacy services * Strong algorithms and data structures knowledge for efficient implementations * Strong unit testing skills and test\-driven mindset * Build tools knowledge and experience with CI workflows * Performance analysis and optimization skills for backend services * Strong troubleshooting skills for debugging and fixing production issues * Self\-starter mindset with ownership and proactive communication * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience * Upper\-Intermediate English proficiency (B2\) for effective communication **Nice to have** * Docker skills for containerizing and running services locally and in pipelines * Gradle experience for builds and dependency management * GraphQL experience for designing and consuming GQL APIs * Kotlin experience for server\-side development on the JVM * RAML experience for API modeling and documentation **We offer** * International projects with top brands * Work with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peers * Healthcare benefits * Employee financial programs * Paid time off and sick leave * Upskilling, reskilling and certification courses * Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning library and 22,000\+ courses * Global career opportunities * Volunteer and community involvement opportunities * EPAM Employee Groups * Award\-winning culture recognized by Glassdoor, Newsweek and LinkedIn
