Job Purpose The Senior Agricultural Credit Analyst will be responsible for assessing, mitigating, and managing credit risk associated with the financing portfolio. This role requires deep knowledge of agribusiness dynamics, production cycles (livestock and crop), commodity markets, and dealer networks. The position ensures the design of structured financial solutions that drive commercial growth while maintaining strict risk control, regulatory compliance, and portfolio quality. The role plays a strategic part in translating complex sector data into sound financial decisions and communicating risk assessments fluently. Key Responsibilities **Credit Evaluation and Structuring:** Evaluate and analyze complex credit applications from agricultural producers, contractors, and strategic clients. Structure financing proposals aligned with cash flows and harvest cycles. **Financial and Sector Analysis:** Conduct rigorous financial analysis, including cash flow projections, debt service capacity, and balance sheet assessments. Monitor macroeconomic variables, agricultural policies, climate impacts, and international grain price volatility to anticipate portfolio risks. **Risk Mitigation and Decision Making:** Identify, quantify, and mitigate credit risks by recommending appropriate guarantee structures. Prepare and present detailed reports to the Credit Committee, with clear, data-driven recommendations. **Portfolio Monitoring and Early Warning Systems:** Conduct periodic reviews of active credit lines and monitor the financial health of key accounts. Manage early warning indicators to detect signs of deterioration in the agricultural portfolio and implement proactive action plans. **Dealer Network Relationship Management:** Collaborate with the commercial team and dealer network to streamline the credit process without compromising risk policies. Serve as the technical point of contact for resolving complex queries regarding credit structuring. **Process Optimization and Digital Transformation:** Participate in or lead initiatives aimed at automating credit workflows, optimizing Cash Flow analysis tools, and enhancing internal scoring models. Experience Required **Professional Experience:** Minimum 5 years of experience in credit risk analysis, corporate banking, or structured finance, with at least 3 years exclusively dedicated to the agricultural or agribusiness sector. **Sector Specialization:** Solid understanding of agribusiness market dynamics, including fine and coarse harvest cycles, producer liquidity, grain barter operations, and agricultural machinery financing. **Financial Competence:** Advanced proficiency in interpreting financial statements, corporate finance, cash flow modeling, and credit risk assessment methodologies. **Tools and Systems:** Proven experience using robust management systems (ERP/Core Banking such as SAP, IBM platforms, or other management systems) and advanced Excel skills for financial modeling. Power BI. Preferred Qualifications **Education:** University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Economics, or related fields. A Master’s degree or specialization in Finance or Agribusiness is highly valued. **Languages:** Advanced intermediate English (spoken and written) is an absolute requirement. Full fluency is required to draft risk reports, negotiate, and present complex cases to regional executives or global committees. **Analytical and Soft Skills:** Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and strategic vision. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to balance commercial needs against the company’s risk limits. **Leadership and Teamwork:** Demonstrated ability to mentor other analysts, manage high-pressure situations (e.g., system operational contingencies or demand spikes), and promote digital transformation initiatives within the credit department.
