Position Summary: We are seeking a Senior Insurance Lawyer to diagnose, analyze, manage, and monitor legal contingencies arising from civil liability claims, with a focus on cost efficiency. We are currently seeking a Senior Insurance Lawyer, oriented toward diagnosing, analyzing, managing, and monitoring legal contingencies arising from civil liability claims. Key Responsibilities: Analyze, register, and maintain control over the contentious civil liability portfolio; seek solutions focused on cost efficiency and related matters during pre-litigation and/or judicial stages. Directly manage judicial proceedings and related matters across various jurisdictions, including filing responses to complaints, attending hearings, submitting appeals, raising procedural exceptions, presenting evidence, developing potential defenses, and undertaking other duties inherent to the position. Issue legal opinions and rulings on the validity or invalidity of claims. Assume direct responsibility for negotiations with plaintiffs/claimants, following claim quantification and analysis of timing and appropriateness. Analyze and interpret potential fraud. Knowledge and Requirements: Education: Licensed lawyer. Experience: Minimum 5 years in the insurance industry. Must be registered and licensed with the Bar Association of CABA and the Province. Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of civil litigation and dispute resolution. Experience in civil and commercial procedural law. Knowledge of Insurance and Risk legislation. Experience drafting contracts, agreements, and procedural documents.
