We are seeking to hire an experienced Senior Back End Developer to support our Accommodations team’s technical challenges. ### **What will be the main challenges of this role?** * Design and implement end\-to\-end solutions, with a focus on Backend development. * Actively participate in technical and architectural decisions, prioritizing simplicity, scalability, and maintainability. * Own the developed software—from its design through production operations—including monitoring and management of applications handling live traffic. * Work with MariaDB databases, ensuring performance and adherence to best practices in modeling and querying. * Design, implement, and consume RESTful APIs, integrating third-party services as needed. * Collaborate closely with Product and UX teams to understand the business functional context and build solutions aligned with team objectives. * Actively contribute to building and prioritizing the team backlog, providing both technical and business perspectives. * Promote engineering best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement and code review. * Participate in incident response, post\-mortem analysis, and improvements to application resilience and observability. ### **What are we looking for?** * 6+ years of solid Backend development experience, ideally with Java. * Experience working with high-traffic production applications, with emphasis on monitoring, stability, and performance. * Experience with relational databases (MariaDB or similar). * Experience designing and consuming REST APIs, collaborating with other technical teams on service integration. * Experience across the full development lifecycle, including production releases, deployment, testing, and post-implementation monitoring. * Ability to understand the impact of each feature, track metrics post-deployment, and critically evaluate proposals using data-driven reasoning. * Strong communication and negotiation skills to interact with Product, UX, and other technical teams. * Strong business orientation, with the ability to translate functional requirements into technical solutions. * Enthusiasm for and/or experience with AI tools. ### **Nice to have:** * Experience with Scala. * Knowledge or experience in Frontend development (Angular or React), particularly in inner-source models. * Familiarity with observability tools (logs, metrics, alerts). * Knowledge of non-relational databases (MongoDB, Redis).
