Discovery, we are seeking a **temporary BOC Operator** to join our Broadcast Operations team. This position will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring the correct transmission of television signals, maintaining operational continuity of content, and providing support in response to potential technical incidents during both pre-recorded and live broadcasts. **Your Responsibilities** * Operate video signals via an automated broadcast system, controlling broadcast timing, presence and levels of video, audio, subtitles, identification logos, remote command tones, and other secondary effects and events; make necessary adjustments to the broadcast schedule to correct detected discrepancies, errors, or issues, and adapt event and block durations to maintain programming alignment with the planned or established timeline, following supervisor or manager instructions. * Conduct monitoring at the broadcast output and also at satellite reception; for certain signals, audio and video failure alarms are available as support. * In case of failures or issues, perform the following actions—or some of them: + Switch to backup equipment via electronic systems. + Replace content with pre-designated emergency material. + Manually activate or deactivate devices. + Switch video source to an alternate server and/or external sources. + Redirect audio channels. + Modify events in the broadcast schedule. * Report—and optionally document—detected issues and corrective actions taken. * Review stored material prior to future broadcast, and test graphics, subtitles, and other operational verifications of equipment and/or content, per supervisor instructions. * The tasks listed above apply to both pre-recorded and live program broadcasts. **Qualifications and Experience** * **2–3 years’ experience** in similar roles within broadcasting, broadcast operations, master control, or audiovisual environments. * Knowledge of video and audio signal transmission and monitoring processes. * Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve operational incidents in real time. * Experience working with operational procedures and incident escalation protocols. * Proficiency with computer-based tools and operational monitoring systems. * Ability to work under pressure and make rapid decisions during critical situations. * Detail-oriented, organized profile with strong communication skills. **How We Get Things Done…** This last bit is probably the most important!
