Discovery, we are seeking a **temporary BOC Operator** to join our Broadcast Operations team. This position will be responsible for monitoring and ensuring the correct transmission of television signals, maintaining operational continuity of content, and providing support for potential technical incidents during both pre-recorded and live transmissions. **Your Responsibilities** * Operates video signals via an automated broadcast system, controlling broadcast timing, presence and levels of video, audio, subtitles, identification logos, remote command tones, and other secondary effects and events; makes necessary adjustments to the broadcast schedule to correct detected misalignments, errors, or issues, and adapts event and event-block durations to maintain programming in accordance with the planned or established timeline, following supervisor or manager instructions. * Performs monitoring at the broadcast output and also at satellite reception; for certain signals, audio and video failure alarms provide support. * In case of failures or issues, performs the following actions—or some of them: + Switches to backup equipment via electronic systems. + Replaces content with pre-designated emergency material. + Manually activates or deactivates devices. + Switches video source to an alternative server and/or external sources. + Redirects audio channels. + Modifies events in the broadcast schedule. * Reports—and occasionally documents—detected issues and corrective actions taken. * Reviews stored material for future broadcast and tests graphics, subtitles, and other operational verifications of equipment and/or content as directed by the supervisor. * The tasks listed above apply to both pre-recorded and live program broadcasts. **Qualifications and Experience** * **2–3 years’ experience** in similar roles within broadcasting, broadcast operations, master control, or audiovisual environments. * Knowledge of video and audio signal transmission and monitoring processes. * Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve operational incidents in real time. * Experience working with operational procedures and incident escalation protocols. * Proficiency with computer-based tools and operational monitoring systems. * Ability to work under pressure and make rapid decisions in critical situations. * Detail-oriented, organized profile with strong communication skills. **How We Get Things Done…** This last bit is probably the most important!
