Job Summary:
The Quality Control Intern will contribute to key functional, tactical, and operational aspects of the Quality Control group at Biogen’s facilities in Argentina, performing routine environmental testing and physicochemical and microbiological analyses.

This internship is on-site at our laboratory in CABA, Monday through Friday, 4 hours per day.
We are seeking students in their third year of undergraduate studies, with three semesters remaining to complete their degree.

**About the Role**
The Quality Control Intern is responsible for contributing to key functional, tactical, and operational aspects of the Quality Control group at Biogen’s facilities in Argentina. This includes performing environmental quality control testing, as well as routine physicochemical and microbiological analyses of products to support their release and distribution in Argentina, along with all associated activities required to execute these tests in compliance with cGMP regulations and local health authority requirements.
**Responsibilities**
Routine physicochemical analyses of finished product for commercial release:
* pH measurement
* Appearance test
* Osmolality measurement
* Moisture content determination (Karl Fischer)
* HPLC analysis (content uniformity, assay, impurities and related substances, size-exclusion chromatography, ion-exchange chromatography, peptide mapping, protein concentration)
* Dissolution testing
* Protein identification and concentration by UV spectrophotometry
* Identification by Raman spectroscopy
Quality Control (QC) and environmental monitoring: cleanroom monitoring (airborne particle counting, surface monitoring, viable airborne particles). Monthly purified water monitoring (microbial load, nitrate content, TOC, conductivity).
Monitoring of temperature-controlled chambers, weekly data review, quarterly trend review, and annual reporting.
Activities associated with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP):
* Microbiological culture media growth promotion testing. Strain identification.
* Monthly verification of laboratory instruments and equipment.
* Periodic cleaning of temperature-controlled chambers.
* Interaction with warehouse. Collection of finished product for quality control testing. Proper documentation and storage of quality retention samples.
Support QC laboratory inventory management, as well as ensure inventory of laboratory reference materials (assay controls and reference materials).
**Qualifications**
* Third-year undergraduate student
* Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemical Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, or related field
* Intermediate English (written, reading, and spoken)
