Partner with stakeholders to improve stability and delivery We are seeking a **Senior Database Administrator (DBA)** to strengthen database reliability and guide cloud migration efforts across SQL environments. You will own critical operations, performance, and continuity practices while partnering with stakeholders to improve stability and delivery. Apply now. **Responsibilities** * Administer Microsoft SQL Server environments to ensure stability and availability * Monitor database health, capacity, and performance metrics to prevent disruptions * Lead incident response for database failures, connectivity issues, and performance degradation * Optimize SQL performance by tuning queries, indexes, stored procedures, and design * Implement and maintain security controls and compliance\-aligned configurations * Manage backups, restores, and disaster recovery readiness to meet RTO/RPO targets * Plan and execute upgrades and patching with minimal downtime * Develop monitoring and alerting to improve early detection and response * Automate routine administration tasks with scripts for maintenance and reporting * Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive actions for recurring issues * Maintain operational documentation and knowledge articles for support continuity * Partner with application and infrastructure teams to improve system efficiency * Support cloud migration activities affecting database platforms and workloads **Requirements** * 3\+ years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in production environments * 3\+ years of experience working with SQL databases, including backups, restores, and maintenance plans * Strong ownership mindset for availability, reliability, and security of database platforms * Proven incident leadership skills, including major incident participation and follow\-up actions * Solid project support experience for database changes, upgrades, and integrations * Advanced troubleshooting skills for performance bottlenecks, connectivity issues, and service disruptions * Strong performance tuning skills for queries, indexes, and stored procedures * Hands\-on scripting skills for automation, health checks, and reporting * Strong documentation skills for runbooks, operational procedures, and knowledge articles * Clear communication skills to advise stakeholders on best practices and standards * English level B2 (Upper\-Intermediate) **Nice to have** * Experience with high\-availability and disaster recovery architectures for SQL Server * Experience designing monitoring and alerting strategies for database platforms * Experience supporting database\-related integrations and application modernization initiatives **We offer** * International projects with top brands * Work with global teams of highly skilled, diverse peers * Healthcare benefits * Employee financial programs * Paid time off and sick leave * Upskilling, reskilling and certification courses * Unlimited access to the LinkedIn Learning library and 22,000\+ courses * Global career opportunities * Volunteer and community involvement opportunities * EPAM Employee Groups * Award\-winning culture recognized by Glassdoor, Newsweek and LinkedIn
