An Engineering professional to perform the role of MPD SPECIALIST ENGINEER within the Specialties Management, VP PWO. What Will Be Your Challenge? As the MPD Specialist Engineer, you will serve as the technical reference and point of consultation in your specialty, providing support in both planning and execution as required. You will lead special tests aimed at introducing new technologies or new service providers. You will contribute to defining contractual strategies ensuring resource supply, with project viability as a key premise. You will focus on identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and maximize profitability. You will support investigations of critical quality incidents. You will develop and deliver technical training programs for drilling personnel and contractors. You will be responsible for complying with—and ensuring others comply with—company-established Quality, Safety, and Environmental policies. You will audit service companies. You will train application engineers and company staff; many personnel come from conventional operations and lack exposure to challenging operations. What Will Be Your Main Responsibilities? * Design and implement MPD drilling operational strategies and practices, focusing on safety, quality, reduction of drilling time, and project profitability. * Audit contractor operating bases and field MPD equipment operations. Design KPIs for monitoring MPD service performance. * Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and performance analyses of MPD operations. * Develop capabilities and systems to monitor well conditions in real time from the RTIC (Real Time Intelligent Center). * Coordinate MPD service allocation according to contractor capacity and well complexity, ensuring safety, profitability, and continuity of drilling operations. * Prepare necessary documentation for tender processes (e.g., technical specifications, evaluation matrices, etc.). Collaborate in defining procurement strategies. * Prepare documentation to implement testing protocols for new technologies or contractor companies. * Identify and mitigate operational risks related to wellbore stability and pressure control. * Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations across all operational stages. * Train drilling personnel and contractors involved in operations on MPD procedures and best practices. What Do We Value? * Academic background: Degree in Petroleum/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or related disciplines. * Professional experience: Minimum 10 years’ experience in MPD operations, with proven experience in service companies. * Knowledge: In-depth understanding of drilling fluid circulation systems and wellbore pressure control. * IT tools: Experience with MPD drilling simulation and monitoring software. * Preferred: Well Control and MPD certifications will be valued. * Competencies: * Analytical ability and attention to detail. * Effective communication skills and teamwork. * Safety orientation and regulatory compliance mindset. * Adaptability to innovative drilling technologies.
