From that point onward, and in close collaboration with regional teams and relevant departments, CPG leads project design, development, and execution through to delivery, applying organizational capabilities and management expertise to achieve safe, efficient outcomes with predictable capital productivity. As Glencore’s portfolio and LOA plans evolve, CPG aims to further expand its impact and influence, promoting safe, responsible, and sustainable project execution for the business. **Permitting Supervisor, El Pachón Project** Location: San Juan, Argentina Division: Capital Projects Group Reporting to: Principal Permitting (direct line) **Qualifications and experience** Education and training * University degree: Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences or related fields. * Postgraduate studies in environmental management or legal compliance will be valued. * Solid knowledge of environmental regulations, management systems, and environmental permits. Experience * Minimum of 4 years in similar roles, with proven experience in large-scale mining projects. * Experience in preparation and management of Environmental Impact Reports and related mining project permits. * Knowledge of environmental regulations and permit management. Language * Fluent Spanish and intermediate English (spoken and written). Position location: El Pachón Project – Office in San Juan (on-site mode), with travel to the project site required. **Main job objective** Preparation of the Environmental Impact Report and its updates, necessary for the development of the El Pachón Project, ensuring compliance with provincial and national legal frameworks as well as Glencore’s corporate standards. Ensure timely acquisition of permits according to the project schedule to enable execution of activities/works across all project stages. **Operational context**This role is part of the Permitting & Environmental Studies team, working in close coordination with Engineering, Social, Environmental, Legal, and Contracts areas, as well as with external consultants. It is critical to the project strategy, as its performance directly impacts the approval and authorization of various project stages. **Control elements*** Regulations: National, provincial, and local legislation; international standards (IFC, ICMM); Glencore internal policies. * Systems: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, MS Project, PDF, and document management platforms. * Governance: Maintain strategic communication with authorities **Required skills*** Extensive experience in environmental impact assessment systems, impact declarations, and communication with authorities and communities. * Strong knowledge of current environmental and sector-specific legislation and regulations. * Understanding of international environmental and social performance standards (IFC, ICMM). * Ability to manage contracts with external consultants and suppliers. * Excellent planning, critical analysis, and problem-solving skills. * Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and authorities. * Safety awareness. Promoting health, safety, and environmental (HSEC) culture on the project, ensuring all permitting activities comply with applicable corporate and regulatory standards. **Key responsibilities** 1. Coordinate the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and other technical documents required by authorities, ensuring compliance with provincial and national legal frameworks as well as Glencore’s corporate standards. 2. Supervise the work of external consultants in preparing the EIA and related supplementary technical reports, ensuring consistency and compliance with authority requirements. 3. Conduct review and analysis of environmental baseline studies to ensure their accuracy, relevance, and regulatory compliance. 4. Actively participate in the EIA evaluation and approval process. 5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration of environmental considerations into the project. 6. Advise the company on sustainability and environmental responsibility matters. 7. Prepare periodic reports (weekly) on the progress status of the EIA preparation (estimated service time, deliverables, EDP, etc.) and compliance with requirements set by the Authority during the evaluation process. **Direct reports** Principal Permitting **Other key relationships** Internal relationships: Engineering, Social, Environmental, Legal, Controller, Supply Chain.
