Dow has an opportunity for a **Board Operator (Panelist)** located at the **LDPE Plant** in **Bahia Blanca**, Argentina. The professional will be responsible for operating the Plant Control Panel. To do so, they must fully understand the plant’s operation and operational variables, and be accountable for its continuous and safe operation. They perform product transition maneuvers and equipment handovers to carry out tasks. They execute maneuvers from the control room to start or stop equipment or the entire plant as required. They conduct and report on operational activities related to their shift. They exercise discretion in time usage to achieve sustainable results for the facility. They apply operational knowledge and experience to proactively operate the plant safely, reliably, and optimally. They collaborate with shift team members to anticipate and efficiently resolve unplanned events within the shift team’s capabilities, and effectively escalate unresolved issues to appropriate support functions. They require expanded technical skills in operational methods or processes to perform a defined range of activities. They may serve as an informal resource for less experienced team members. **Responsibilities** * Follow operational discipline policies, principles, procedures, standards, and practices to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of assigned plant areas. Ensure appropriate operational discipline is available for all planned and unplanned activities. * Monitor process conditions, key performance metrics, equipment, and control systems, and make appropriate decisions to maintain and/or achieve desired rates and conditions aligned with plant/site/business objectives. * Perform scheduled operational and related tasks, as well as tasks arising from resolution of unplanned events. * Collaborate with shift team members and other shifts to leverage skills and knowledge to balance workload and ensure assigned tasks are completed by deadlines. * Conduct effective shift handover, as defined by site-specific operational discipline and tools, to ensure effective communication and transfer of information to the incoming shift team. * Maintain qualification in assigned areas per site policy, and complete training objectives in a timely manner. * Guide and train new and existing operations personnel on process operations, problem solving, and use of operational discipline, aligned with the plant’s training process. * Perform Immediate Response activities as assigned. * Initiate and document preliminary investigations per plant-specific processes/criteria, and participate in formal and informal root cause investigations for events involving or requested by the operator. * Track and utilize plant key performance metrics applicable to the Plant Operations role to optimize operations and identify improvement opportunities. * Apply process knowledge and skills to improve plant performance and operational discipline.
