The Semi-Senior Data Governance Analyst is responsible for collaborating in the implementation, documentation, and maintenance of the organization’s Data Governance framework, aiming to ensure the quality, consistency, and availability of critical data assets. Contributing to the operationalization of the Data Governance strategy. This includes identifying, cataloging, and documenting data assets (domains, subdomains), defining data quality rules and business glossaries. Objective: Ensure the company has reliable, consistent, and understandable data enabling informed decision-making and regulatory compliance. This directly contributes to data management maturity and effective utilization of information assets as a strategic business resource. What will be your responsibilities? Cataloging and MetadataDocument identified data assets (domains, subdomains, source systems) in the metadata repository or catalog. Define and maintain Business Glossary entries, ensuring definitions of key terms are clear, concise, and validated by respective Data Stewards. Collaborate in mapping data lineage for critical data flows. Data QualityAssist in defining data quality rules and acceptance thresholds for the company’s critical data. Monitor and report data quality measurement results, identifying trends and recurring inconsistencies. Participate in data quality incident management, coordinating with Data Stewards for root cause resolution and remediation. Data Governance Support and OperationsProvide support in implementing and enforcing policies, standards, and procedures defined by the Data Governance Office (DGO). Support Data Governance adoption initiatives through preparing training and awareness materials for business areas. Ensure data processes (e.g., ingestion, transformation) adhere to established governance standards, working collaboratively with Data Engineering teams. Collaboration and CommunicationWork closely with Data Owners, Data Stewards, IT teams, and other business areas to resolve data issues and promote data culture. Document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to data asset management. What are we looking for? Minimum 1–3 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Quality Management, Metadata Management, or BI roles with a focus on quality. Hard Skills: Metadata Management: Experience in cataloging and documenting data assets. Data Governance: Knowledge of principles, frameworks (e.g., DAMA), and best practices. Data Quality: Ability to define rules, monitor, and analyze quality metrics. SQL: Intermediate/advanced proficiency for querying, exploring, and validating data. DG/DQ Tools: Familiarity with Data Governance or Data Quality tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica). Technical Documentation: Ability to create structured procedures, glossaries, and reports. Soft Skills: Attention to Detail: Rigorous attention to data accuracy and consistency. Interpersonal Communication: Ease in interacting with technical and business stakeholders (Data Stewards, IT). Analytical Thinking: Ability to identify root causes of data issues and propose solutions. Organization and Proactivity: Ability to independently manage documentation tasks and tracking. Facilitation: Skill in guiding working sessions and reaching consensus on data definitions. Implementation of a new data tool or technology. Implementation of a Data Warehouse / Data Lake.
