**Specific profile description** Machine Learning Engineers design, develop, and implement machine learning systems to solve real-world problems. They work with data to create models, perform statistical analysis, and train and retrain systems to optimize performance. *Summary*: * Design and develop machine learning systems. * Work with data to clean, prepare, and analyze it. * Implement machine learning algorithms and train models. * Evaluate model performance and make necessary adjustments. * Deploy machine learning systems into production and monitor their performance. * Collaborate with other engineers, data scientists, and product managers. * Stay up to date on the latest advancements in machine learning. **Role responsibilities** Below are some of the responsibilities a SC\&O DS team member might carry out daily as part of a project team. * *Assist with data collection, cleaning, and preprocessing. This involves gathering data from various sources, cleaning it to remove errors and inconsistencies, and preparing it in a format suitable for machine learning models.* * *Develop and train models. This involves selecting the appropriate machine learning algorithm for the problem at hand, training the model using prepared data, and evaluating model performance.* * *Deploy models into production. This involves making the trained model available to users so it can make predictions on new data.* * *Monitor and maintain machine learning models. This involves monitoring the performance of deployed models and making necessary adjustments to ensure they continue operating effectively.* * *Collaborate with other engineers and data scientists. They often work in cross-functional teams with other engineers and data scientists to develop and deploy solutions.* * Additionally, they must coordinate task execution within a small team, ensuring tasks are completed on time.
