**About This Opportunity:**
For WSP in Argentina, we are seeking an **Intermediate Hydrogeological Modeler** to join our Mining Water team, based in the Mendoza office. (Flexible location within Latin America, with participation in regional projects.)
The role aims to develop, implement, and interpret conceptual and numerical hydrogeological models for mining projects, supporting the technical analysis of groundwater systems and the preparation of specialized studies.
**Responsibilities:**
* Develop conceptual and numerical hydrogeological models for groundwater systems.
* Perform numerical flow and mass transport modeling using specialized software (MODFLOW, FEFLOW, or equivalent).
* Calibrate, validate, and interpret hydrogeological models under various operational and environmental scenarios.
* Integrate hydrogeological data from monitoring, hydraulic tests, and geoscience databases.
* Analyze modeling results and prepare specialized technical reports.
* Support mine–aquifer interaction assessments, dewatering, water balance, and groundwater management.
* Participate in multidisciplinary teams alongside geologists, geotechnical engineers, hydrochemists, and environmental professionals.
* Support internal technical reviews and quality control of modeling deliverables.
* Participate in hydrogeological field activities as required.
**Requirements:**
* Professional degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, or related discipline.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in hydrogeological modeling or applied hydrogeology.
* Demonstrable experience in numerical groundwater modeling.
* Experience in hydrogeological studies for mining or environmental projects.
* Intermediate-to-advanced proficiency in hydrogeological modeling software (FEFLOW, MODFLOW, or equivalent).
* Experience in analysis and interpretation of hydrogeological data.
* Knowledge of GIS tools applied to hydrogeology.
* Programming language skills for data processing (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or similar) are desirable.
* Field hydrogeological experience is desirable.
* Intermediate technical English proficiency.
