Because the challenges you’ll take on reflect your ambitions! **Responsibilities and Accountabilities** Role Information * Role title: Junior Data Engineer * Department: Digital Productivity \& Innovation (DPI) – P\&S LATAM * Reports to: Supply Chain Design \& Data Analytics Manager * Location: Buenos Aires, Argentina (contracted via consulting firm) * Scope: Regional (LATAM) Role Purpose Build and maintain data pipelines in Databricks that feed analytical products and applications for the DPI LATAM team. This role bridges the execution gap between the team’s ideas and production-ready data, enabling rapid, high-quality prototyping of data solutions. Accountabilities * Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines in Databricks using PySpark and SQL. * Build and optimize tables in Delta Lake following best practices in data modeling (medallion architecture: bronze/silver/gold). * Connect to and ingest data from multiple sources (SAP, flat files, APIs, relational databases). * Ensure data quality: implement validations, basic monitoring, and alerts on pipelines. * Document pipelines, data dictionaries, and lineage clearly and maintainably. * Collaborate with the analytics team and application developers to define required data products. * Use AI\-assisted development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or equivalents) to accelerate development and problem resolution. * Participate in code reviews and uphold standards for clean, reproducible code. Knowledge, Experience \& Capabilities Education: Advanced student or graduate in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field. EXPERIENCE: * 1\-2 years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles. * Practical experience building pipelines in Databricks or similar Spark\-based platforms. * Preferably with exposure to corporate environments (manufacturing, supply chain, agribusiness, or similar). MANDATORY SKILLS: * Advanced SQL (complex queries, window functions, optimization). * Python / PySpark for data transformation. * Databricks (notebooks, jobs, workflows, Delta Lake). * Dimensional data modeling or medallion architecture. * Git for code versioning. * AI\-assisted development (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or equivalents). NICE TO HAVE: * Knowledge of Unity Catalog in Databricks. * Experience with SAP sources (tables, extractors, IDocs). * Familiarity with orchestrators (Databricks Workflows, Airflow). * Basic cloud knowledge (AWS or Azure): S3, IAM, etc. * Intermediate/advanced English.
