Mission: You will be responsible for the definition, design, analysis, implementation, and operational support of the AOCS subsystem. You will contribute to the entire mission lifecycle, leveraging both your extensive theoretical knowledge and practical engineering experience. Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00–18:00 Workplace: Palermo Work modality: Remote, with occasional office attendance · Key Responsibilities: Translate high-level requirements into GNC software requirements within hardware constraints. Perform system simulations, develop and test flight software. Define the GNC system architecture, conduct feasibility studies, and select hardware components such as sensors and actuators to meet mission requirements. Design, implement, and test fundamental GNC algorithms for attitude estimation, flight control, and orbital guidance. Lead the integration and testing of the GNC subsystem using a combination of Model-in-the-Loop (MIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulations. Play a key role in launch, commissioning, and ongoing AOCS operations, including telemetry analysis and anomaly resolution. Collaborate closely with other engineering teams and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Provide Level 3 support during commissioning and operation of GNC flight software. Statistically evaluate algorithm performance. Evaluate statistical estimation errors to drive future improvements meeting our current product requirements. · Location: Argentina. Required Experience: PhD, Master’s degree, or equivalent experience in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Control Engineering. Programming in Python/C/C++, solid knowledge of statistics, control theory, and signal processing. More than 4 years of experience in software, statistics, estimation, signal processing, applied mathematics, and/or control. More than 5 years of professional experience in Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) or Attitude and Orbit Control Systems (AOCS) for aerospace vehicles. Proven experience in spacecraft orbital mechanics, classical dynamics, and attitude kinematics. Strong theoretical foundation in modern and classical control theory, linear and nonlinear systems, and state estimation techniques such as the Kalman filter. Required Skills: Communication: Ability to communicate information orally and in writing across all hierarchical levels. Leadership: Appropriately supervise the performance of all tasks, maintaining direct, close, and frequent communication with team members. Proven experience leading AOCS subsystem design across its full lifecycle, including presentations and contributions to major project reviews (e.g., PDR, CDR).
