Collaboration with Product Engineering and Production We are a major metallurgical company located in the Ramos Mejía area and are currently seeking a CAD Technician. The position’s primary responsibilities include developing and maintaining 2D and 3D technical documentation for processes and parts, as well as programming CNC machines (router, machining center, lathe, and other relevant equipment), to enable project production within required timeframes and quality standards. Responsibilities Modeling and/or updating 2D/3D drawings (per company standards) and preparing manufacturing files. CNC programming (CAM/post-processors) and parameter setup (tools, feed rates, spindle speeds, offsets). Standardization of nomenclature and bill-of-materials structures to ensure traceability. Generation of templates and process routing sheets. Collaboration with Product Engineering and Production for DFM/DFA and resolution of non-conformances. Support in estimating machining cycle times and continuous improvement (scrap reduction, cycle time reduction, rework reduction). Requirements Education: Technical Diploma or Engineering Degree (Electromechanical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field). Experience: Minimum 4 years in CAD/CAM and CNC operation or programming. Tools: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks/Inventor/AutoCAD) and CAM software (e.g., Mastercam/Fusion 360/Edgecam); familiarity with G/M codes. Desired Knowledge: Fixturing, tool selection, materials, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Performance Indicators (KPIs) Time to release programs/drawings per project. % First-pass yield. Reduction in scrap attributable to programming/drawings. Compliance with nomenclature and documentation standards. Interactions Reports to: Operations Management. Interfaces with: Product Engineering, Production, Quality, Procurement.
