We provide financial consulting and advisory services, as well as bookkeeping and payroll services, to salons and spas across the US and even some in Canada. The services we provide change lives and help business owners grow their businesses and achieve their dreams. **The Role** We’re looking for a full\-time finance professional to work directly with our clients. You will meet with them regularly, advise and strategize with them, maintain the bookkeeping, and generally guide them as they build the business of their dreams. (We have a framework for all of this, of which the Profit First system is a large part.) While not a requirement, we are particularly interested in candidates who would eventually like to grow into a leadership role. **The Good, The Bad** Like with all jobs, there are good things and bad things about this position. Let’s get the bad out of the way first: * Really, it comes down to the pay not being great, at least to start. You will be paid $3600/month for the first 2\-3 months to cover onboarding and training. After that, pay will be milestone\-based. The good stuff: * An amazing commute. 100% of our work is done from home. So you can work away in whatever clothes you want (or don’t want). Just don’t forget to put on pants before that Zoom meeting! * Your work time is flexible. Want to work a lot three days per week? Great! Prefer to work a more traditional schedule each day? That’s good, too! * The work is meaningful. You’ll be working with beauty business owners in a variety of situations. And you’ll be helping them accomplish amazing things. You will directly guide and advise them as they build the business of their dreams. We’re willing to bet you can’t find that level of impact and meaning anywhere else! * Great earning potential. Your pay is largely determined by you and pacing at which you want to scale. This may start small but will grow quickly to become significant, as you become more efficient and handle more clients. (Our current team members make about twice as much as when they started, without working more time.) * You will always be learning. Because we believe in being true financial partners with our clients, you’ll become knowledgeable in many areas: best pricing practices, different ways to track inventory, when to be an LLC vs an S\-Corp, and any of a dozen different areas that impact the day\-to\-day of our clients. You will also work directly for our founder, Ross Loveland. * Related to the above, we will train you to become a certified Profit First Professional. * Speaking of growth …there is a LOT of potential in this position. Our company is growing fast. Like, really fast. Ideally, we’d love a candidate who can grow with us. Along the way will be opportunities for increased leadership roles and, yes, increased pay! **Now that you’re intrigued, let’s review the job requirements.** * First, the technical stuff. We’re looking for someone with three or more years of bookkeeping or accounting experience. A bonus for those who have experience advising or consulting with clients. * You also need at least two years of experience with QuickBooks Online. * You need to be a motivated, self\-driven person who enjoys getting things done. Because we work remotely from each other, there will be no one looking over your shoulder to keep you focused. * You ABSOLUTELY have to be a person of integrity. In the work we do, we often deal with sensitive information and our clients place a great deal of trust in us. You also need to be someone who can stand up for these values, as we require them of our clients, too (we will not work with clients who lie on their taxes, accept cash payments “under the table,” etc.). * You will be on the computer a lot. You need to be comfortable with that, including using email, researching online, and working in spreadsheets. * You will be on Zoom a lot. We have monthly or semimonthly meetings with every client. You need to enjoy talking to other people and collaborating with them, sometimes telling them what to do (in a thoughtful, encouraging manner). * You need to be a person who loves making a difference and seeing the impact of their work. Basically, someone who feels good by helping others succeed and feel good. **Two nice\-to\-haves that aren’t job requirements**. * A desire to become a leader within our growing company * Familiarity with Profit First To sum up, your job will be to work with clients. You will advise them on money management, do their bookkeeping, reconcile bank statements, prepare reports, etc. You will also get to know them, their business, and their goals. And then you will do everything you can to guide them towards achieving those goals. You will also be a big part of our company and help us as we evolve and grow.
