Finning, strategic partner of CATERPILLAR and leader in equipment and service distribution, is seeking top talent to fill the role of Mining Mentor for Cerro Negro (Argentina), who will be responsible for preparing and delivering on-the-job and/or classroom training activities aimed at developing the necessary competencies of technicians, and providing quality and timely service to our customers through proper execution of maintenance tasks. Training activities—whether on-the-job or in the classroom—include procedures related to maintenance; disassembly and assembly; testing, adjustments, and fault diagnosis of the various systems of the equipment assigned to the contract or specific area. Evaluate and diagnose gaps in technical capabilities and skills to determine training action plans. Key responsibilities include: * Plan, organize, and facilitate group learning for internal technical personnel based on maintenance procedures. * Prepare on-the-job technical instruction content according to the needs of the specific area and ensure on-the-job transfer of developed skills. * Certify the competencies of personnel under the contract or assigned area. * Identify operational training needs in alignment with supervisors to define future training plans. * Record participant training information. * Stay continuously updated on equipment upgrades and corresponding procedural changes. * Conduct training activities while addressing all safety aspects and risks associated with tasks performed within your area. * Deliver equipment operation courses exclusively for equipment transportation and movement at mining sites. * Conduct technical interviews using standardized evaluation criteria to assess the knowledge of new hires. Key required knowledge: * Technical English proficiency. * Learning techniques. * Course design techniques. * Training Administration System (SRH). * User-level computer skills. * Factory-certified equipment training. * NCH 2728 standard (desirable). * ISO 9001:2008 (desirable). * Tax Incentive Program (SENCE) (desirable). * SENCE-mandated course documentation (desirable). * Bachelor’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering or equivalent. * Minimum 5 years’ experience in Caterpillar or Ingersoll-Rand equipment maintenance. * Certification on at least 3 Caterpillar and/or Ingersoll-Rand equipment models.
