The **Facilities Engineer** is responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center operates at peak efficiency. This includes scheduled preventive maintenance, daily corrective work, and emergency response to unforeseen issues. This role serves as the technical resource, reporting to the **Data Center Manager**, and collaborates with external vendors. This equipment includes, but is not limited to: backup diesel generators, switchboards, UPS systems, PDUs, AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, chemical treatment systems, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems. **Location:** On-site position in **Pilar, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina** **Key Responsibilities** * Develop creative approaches to minimize operational costs, improve efficiency, and implement new strategies for Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Safety systems. * Perform performance testing of electromechanical assemblies and electronic voltage meters. * Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of processes. * Inspect equipment to detect defects, leaks, and potential failures. * Install electrical/electronic components and hardware into enclosures or assemblies using hand tools. * Align, adjust, or assemble components using hand or power tools. * Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, security, building monitoring, and control systems. * Analyze systems to ensure best practices for internal and external customers. * Provide feedback on the effectiveness of existing standards and processes. * Work with contractors and consultants to review quality assurance for system expansions, corrections, and upgrades. * Participate in tracking and executing aggressive preventive and predictive maintenance programs. * Collaborate in determining maintenance requirements for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and security systems. * Complete scheduled and ad hoc preventive maintenance assignments. * Conduct periodic inspections of building systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical distribution) and maintain mechanical equipment rooms in clean and safe conditions. * Respond promptly, investigate, and manage indoor emergency situations and air quality-related complaints. * Fully understand the process of creating, closing, and tracking “Work Requests” (WR).
