At URBANO CONSULTORES, we are supporting a family-owned metallurgical company with over 30 years of experience in searching for a Specialized Operator for its production plant. The company specializes in developing metallurgical solutions for the automotive and related industries, with expertise in steel part stamping using mechanical and hydraulic presses, as well as welding processes — all with a strong focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement since 1994. The Challenge We seek a technically and operationally oriented profile, focused on the efficient and safe production of stamped parts, capable of performing die setup, operating mechanical and hydraulic presses, completing production records, and ensuring process quality in accordance with established standards. This role has a direct impact on the plant’s productivity, quality, and operational continuity. What will you specifically do? Die Setup: Assembly and mounting of dies on hydraulic and mechanical presses. Operation of stamping machines and transfer presses. Interpretation of engineering drawings. Operation of high-tonnage mechanical and hydraulic presses, including understanding their operating principles and associated risks. Stamping and welding of steel parts while maintaining production pace, product quality, and safety conditions. Application of general knowledge in heat treatments and error-proofing methods (poka-yoke). Use of guillotine shears: setup, sheet metal utilization optimization, and anomaly detection via noise or operational irregularities. Quality Control: Use of calipers, micrometers, and control gauges. Interpretation of datums, batch and quantity records, destructive welding tests, and non-conformance management. Completion of production and quality records. Basic fault diagnosis (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical). Operation of forklifts for storage, stacking, and stock rotation. Preparation and setup of production lines equipped with automatic feeders. Maintenance of workplace order and cleanliness according to 5S standards. What are we looking for? Experience: Mandatory: Minimum 3 years in similar roles within metallurgical companies. Desirable: More than 5 years in the metallurgical/automotive components industry. Education: Completed secondary education, preferably technical. Technical Knowledge: Handling of dies and high-tonnage presses. Operation of transfer presses and stamping machines. Dimensional and documentary quality control. Valued: Welding knowledge. Forklift operation. Use of machine tools (lathe, milling machine, grinding machine, etc.).
