Description

The Procurement Specialist – Independent Contractor will support the accurate processing, coordination, and documentation of customer orders related to home improvement projects. The Procurement Specialist – Independent Contractor will operate independently to deliver defined outcomes in alignment with agreed service expectations. **SCOPE OF SERVICES** The Procurement Specialist – Independent Contractor shall provide services, including but not limited to the following: **Order Review \& Documentation Support** * Review customer order documentation to verify completeness, accuracy, and readiness for processing * Validate product specifications, quantities, pricing, and delivery requirements based on provided information * Identify discrepancies or missing information and communicate findings to designated company contacts **Order Processing \& Coordination** * Prepare and submit purchase or service order documentation aligned with approved specifications * Support order lifecycle tracking by monitoring status and flagging potential delays or inconsistencies * Assist in coordinating order\-related communications with suppliers or internal stakeholders as needed **Issue Resolution \& Quality Support** * Identify and document order\-related issues or discrepancies and recommend corrective actions * Support resolution efforts related to order adjustments, returns, or material discrepancies * Maintain accurate documentation related to order corrections, credits, or material disposition **Supplier \& Stakeholder Communication** * Facilitate professional communication with suppliers or internal contacts to support order accuracy and fulfillment * Provide status updates or summaries related to assigned workstreams as requested **Process Support** * Maintain documentation necessary to support invoicing readiness and project closeout * Support data accuracy related to order records and procurement documentation * Provide feedback or insights to improve process efficiency when applicable **Qualifications and Requirements** **Education \& Experience** * Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required * Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in a relevant higher education program preferred * At least three years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain support * Experience with order processing and or finance and accounting functions preferred **Technical and Computer Skills** * Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams * Experience working with ERP systems related to supply chain management, with the ability to develop proficiency in SAP * Requires working daily within a Windows operating system environment * Tech\-savvy with experience using tools such as Google Workspace, project management platforms (e.g., Asana), and video conferencing software **Core Competencies** * Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities * Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail * Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills with the ability to apply critical thinking * Goal\-oriented with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes * Resourceful in managing tools, systems, and information efficiently * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Professional demeanor with conduct aligned to company standards and expectations * Ability to navigate conflict professionally and effectively * Dependable, proactive, and self\-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability **Work Environment \& Availability** * Ability to work from a reliable, quiet home office with high\-speed internet * Availability to work 8 hours per day between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday * Availability to work U.S. public holidays as required * English C1/B2 (Required) * Resumes must be submitted in English. * **Compensation:** $15–$18 USD per hour * **Engagement:** Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week, Independent Contractor * **Schedule:** Availability to work 8 hours per day between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday * **Location:** Remote * **Resumes:** Must be submitted in English Thompson Creek is an equal opportunity employer.
